Obstacles & Boosters: Your Tools for Success in Candy Crush
As you progress in Candy Crush Saga, you’ll encounter various obstacles (blockers) designed to make levels challenging. Thankfully, boosters are available to help you clear them!
Common Obstacles:
- Jelly: Must be matched over to clear. Some require multiple hits. Prioritize clearing isolated jelly.
- Chocolate: Spreads if you don’t clear at least one piece each turn. Always prioritize clearing chocolate to prevent it from overwhelming the board.
- Meringue: Multi-layered blocks that prevent matches until chipped away by adjacent matches or special candy effects.
- Licorice Swirls: Block matches and absorb single Striped Candy effects. Treat like meringue but beware of Striped Candy absorption.
- Bombs (Time Bombs): Have a countdown. If they reach zero before being cleared (by matching or special candy effect), you lose! Clear bombs immediately.
- Locked Candies: Chained candies cannot be swapped until the chain is broken by matching them or hitting them with a special candy effect.
Essential Boosters:
- Lollipop Hammer: Breaks any single candy or blocker. Use for hard-to-reach targets or critical bomb removal.
- Extra Moves: Grants 5 additional moves. Best used when you’re just a few moves short of winning a tough level.
- Striped & Wrapped Combo: Spawns an activated Striped + Wrapped combo. Excellent for clearing large sections of the board.
- Color Bomb: Spawns an activated Color Bomb. Great for clearing a specific color or combining with other specials for massive effects.
- Jelly Fish: Spawns three fish that eat random jelly or blockers. Useful for scattered, hard-to-reach jelly.
